Attended Mott Adult High School in Flint, Michigan in February and March of 2002, but did not play basketball. Attended Northern Valley Regional High School in Old Tappan, NJ, from 2000 until February 2002. Attended La Salle Academy in Brooklyn, NY, in the 1999-2000 school year, averaging 30 points and 15 rebounds in the eight games he was eligible to play. Spent freshman year at Franklin K. Lane High School in Woodhaven, NY.
Earned MVP honors at the 2000 Adidas ABCD Camp.
At the EA Sports Roundball Classic at the United Center in Chicago on March 26, 2002, scored 21 points to help the East defeat the West, 115-103. Rated as the #4 High School Player in the United States by the Prep Stars Recruiter’s Handbook.
