Played final two seasons of collegiate career at Eastern Kentucky, after starting at Compton Community College in California. Started 39 of 52 games. Earned Third Team All-OVC honors after his senior season.

As a senior, averaged 17.8 points and 4.1 rebounds. Started all 26 games. Led team in scoring, field goal percentage and blocked shots. Posted career-high 41 points on 16-for-27 shooting at Eastern Illinois. Led team with 26 points at Tennessee State. Registered 26 points against High Point. Scored 25 points at American. Tallied 24 points and eight rebounds at Tennessee Tech. Recorded a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds against Tennessee State. Blocked four shots against Capital (OH) University.

As a junior, averaged 5.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 18.6 minutes a contest. Started 13 of 26 games. Posted season-high 13 points twice, against Shawnee State and Morehead State. Scored 12 points in the rematch at Morehead State. Registered 11 points in 16 minutes at Tennessee State. Blocked three shots against Tennessee-Martin.

As a sophomore at Compton CC, averaged 15.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists. Earned All-California Community College recognition. Ranked as the second-best shooting guard in the California community college system by several publications.

As a freshman, averaged 15.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists. Helped lead Compton to the California state junior college championship.
