BACKGROUND

Played in Shaw’s Pro Summer League in Boston with the Orlando Magic in 2002. Participated in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in 2002.

Finished collegiate career as the 25th leading scorer in North Carolina history with 1447 points. One of only nine players in UNC history who were four-year starters since freshmen became eligible for the 1972-73 season. Played in 120 total games, starting 114 times.

As a senior, averaged 15.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. Started all 25 games that he appeared in, missing three games in January due to a concussion. Led team in scoring and rebounding. Scored career-high 28 points in back-to-back games against Clemson (Feb. 27) and at Duke (Mar. 3). Tallied 27 points, five rebounds, and five assists at Maryland on Jan. 9. Scored 26 points while adding seven rebounds and four assists against North Carolina A&T on Dec. 27. Notched a double-double with 22 points and career-high 16 rebounds against Texas A&M on Dec. 30. Was named Third Team All-ACC.

As a junior, averaged 11.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. Started 32 of 33 games. Tied for team rebounding lead. Scored 20 or more points in three games, including a season-high 27 points on 10-for-14 shooting against Maryland on Feb. 10. Recorded the second triple-double in UNC history with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists against Buffalo on Dec. 17. Notched a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds against Georgia Tech on Feb. 3. Earned All-ACC Third Team honors.

As a sophomore, averaged 12.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. Started all 36 games for a team that reached the NCAA Tournament Final Four. Scored season-high 23 points against UNLV in the Food Lion MVP Classic on Dec. 4. Earned Orange Bowl Classic MVP honors with a 20 point, 14 rebound, five assist performance against Miami (FL) on Dec. 18. Recorded a 14 point, 11 rebound double-double in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Missouri on Mar. 17. Was named to the NCAA South Regional All-Tournament Team.

As a freshman, averaged 9.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. Started 21 of 26 games, missing several games in January and February due to mononucleosis. Became only the second freshman to lead the team in free throw shooting (.854). Scored season-high 16 points in back-to-back games against Old Dominion and College of Charleston (Dec. 4-5) on his way to earning Food Lion Classic MVP honors. Registered 13 points on 5-for-6 shooting against Maryland in the ACC Tournament semi-finals on Mar. 6.
