BACKGROUND

Watkins spent four seasons at Georgetown University where he averaged 4.8 ppg on .447 shooting along with 4.5 rpg and 1.2 bpg. He spent his final year of eligibility with the Hoyas as a graduate student, and was team co-captain. His senior year, Watkins started 31 of 31 games for Georgetown, averaging 22.7 mpg. He was the fifth leading scorer for the team, averaging 7.8 ppg and led the team in rebounding with 7.2 rpg. Watkins was the second leading shot blocker with 58 rejections and tallied four double-doubles.

Watkins attended Paul Robeson High School in Brooklyn, NY and led his team to the New York City Championship in his junior year, and the team finished second in the City Championships his senior season. He was selected for Newsday’s All-Brooklyn team, nominated to the McDonald’s All-American team and was an Honorable Mention All-American in USA Today.

Watkins signed with the NBDL’s Fayetteville Patriots on February 15, 2002 and wears jersey No. 4.
