High School: Villa Park HS, Villa Park, Calif. Birthdate: March 9, 1979 (Orange, Calif.) Participated in both the Seattle Supersonics and Los Angeles Clippers Veteran Camps this fall. Drafted by the New York Knicks in the second round of the 2001 NBA Draft and then by Greenville on the first round in the 2001 NBDL Supplemental Draft (sixth overall). Acquired from Greenville in exchange for Terrance Roberson on 1/12/02. Averaged 9.8 ppg and 6.1 rpg in 56 games (42 starts) during his rookie NBDL season. Received All-NBDL Honorable Mention recognition as voted on by NBDL coaches. Led the Flight and ranked 12th in the NBDL in field goal shooting at 47.6 percent (195-410). Scored in double figures 30 times (16 w/ the Flight), including three 20-plus points performances (two w/the Flight) and registered nine double-doubles (seven w/ the Flight). Paced the Flight in scoring six times and rebounding 10 times. Holds the team record for blocks in a game with five (twice). Averaged 10.4 ppg, on .479 shooting from the field, and 6.3 rpg in his 42 starts compared to 7.9 ppg, on .464 shooting, and 5.6 rpg in 14 games off the bench. Averaged 10.1 ppg and 6.7 rpg in 27 home appearances compared to 9.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg in 29 road games. Set and tied his season-high for points (22) in consecutive games (vs. Fayetteville on 1/21/02 and at Asheville on 1/26/02). Notched his season high in rebounds (15) against his former Groove teammates on 3/14/02, adding 11 points and four blocks, before fouling out with 1:20 to play. Averaged 10.1 ppg, on .559 shooting from the field (38-68), 8.1 rpg and 1.2 bpg in 10 games (seven starts) in March. Missed one game (w/Greenville vs. Roanoke on 11/29/01) due to injury (back strain). Scored 12.1 ppg, on .500 shooting from the field (29-58), and 6.3 rpg in seven games (all starts) in November. Registered 20 points, on 8-of-11 shooting, and eight rebounds in his first-ever NBDL game (w/Greenville vs. North Charleston on 11/16/01). Completed career ranked second in career blocked shots (242). Ranked in the school’s top 20 in career scoring, top 10 in career games played and top five in career rebounding. Topped Kansas in rebounds 42 times and points 19 times. After sophomore season, was named Honorable Mention All-America by The Associated Press, All-Big 12 Second Team, Big 12 All-Defensive Team, Big 12 All-Improved Team and Big 12 All-Tournament Team. Played on Big 12 Conference Select Team after freshman season, averaging 8.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in six-game European tour. As a senior at Kansas, started 25 of 33 games. Was second on team in rebounding (7.6 rpg). Blocked 49 shots (1.48 bpg), which also ranked second on the squad. Recorded 15 double-digit scoring games, eight double-digit rebounding games and five double-doubles. Posted three straight double-doubles (15 points, 13 rebounds vs. Boise State; 19 points and season-high 17 rebounds vs. Washburn; 15 points and 12 rebounds vs. Middle Tennessee State). Scored season-high 24 points with 14 rebounds vs. Tulsa. Started 21 games as a junior, ranking third on team in rebounding (5.6 rpg). Led team with 53 blocks (1.56 bpg). Named to Great Alaska Shootout All-Tournament Team after averaging 10.7 points. In championship-winning game of the Shootout, racked up 13 points and eight rebounds vs. Georgia Tech big men Jason Collier (Houston Rockets) and Alvin Jones. As a sophomore, was one of two Jayhawks to start every game. Topped team in scoring (13.5 ppg), rebounding (9.1 rpg) and blocked shots (78, 2.36 bpg, 27th in nation). Upped averages to 13.9 points and 10.4 rebounds in conference games. Netted double figures in scoring 25 times, double figures in rebounding 16 times and double figures in both 11 times. Blocked career-high-tying seven shots vs. both DePaul and Illinois, one shy of school’s single-game record. Started 10 games as a freshman, receiving Big 12 All-Freshman recognition. Averaged 4.9 rebounds and set a Kansas freshman record with 35 blocks. Made college debut with 14 points, seven rebounds and two blocks vs. Santa Clara. Grabbed 20 boards vs. Texas A&M.
