BACKGROUND
Participated in training camp with the Seattle Sonics in 2004. Selected by
the Seattle Sonics in the second round (#41 pick overall) of the 2004 NBA Draft.
Was North Carolina Central's first NBA draft pick since 1983. Played with the
Raleigh Knights in the World Basketball Association in the summer of 2004.
Career Highlights: Earned CIAA All-Conference and All-Tournament honors
as a senior. Total of 594 points as a senior ranks as the second-highest single-season
total in North Carolina Central history. Named Most Valuable Player of the Black
College All-Star Classic. Finished collegiate career at North Carolina Central
after playing first three seasons at Xavier. Sat out the 1999-00 season at Xavier
under NCAA academic guidelines, but graduated from the school in 2003 to earn
an extra year of eligibility for which he used at NCCU.
Senior (2003-04): Averaged a team-leading 20.5 points (third in the CIAA)
and 4.8 rebounds. Started 26 of 29 games. Scored career-high 31 points twice,
both times against St. Augustine's. Posted 29 points at Fayetteville State and
against the University of District of Columbia. Tallied 29 points, six assists,
and three steals against St. Paul's. Set season-highs of ten rebounds and seven
assists in CIAA Tournament against Bowie State. Led team with 22 points and
eight rebounds in CIAA Tournament win over Fayetteville State.
Junior (2002-03): Averaged 5.1 points and 2.3 rebounds. Appeared in
ten games, starting two before leaving the team. Scored season-high ten points
against Florida A&M. Tallied eight points and five rebounds against Purdue.
Sophomore (2001-02): Averaged 8.0 points and 3.6 rebounds. Started all
30 games. Recorded season-high 19 points at San Francisco. Scored a team-high
16 points and grabbed a season-high eight rebounds against George Washington.
Tallied 14 points and six rebounds against Dayton. Registered 12 points and
a season-high five assists against Duquesne.
Freshman (2000-01): Averaged 2.5 points and 1.1 rebounds in 7.0 minutes
a contest. Scored season-high ten points against St. Bonaventure.Tallied nine
points and six rebounds against Eastern Kentucky. Scored nine points in the
season opener against Miami (OH).
Personal: Earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. Nickname is
