Played final two seasons of collegiate career at UC Irvine, after starting school at Mira Costa College. The tallest player in UC Irvine basketball history who has been a yearly participant in Pete Newell’s “Big Man” Camp in Hawaii the past few summers.
As a senior, averaged 1.3 points, 1.1 rebounds in 6.0 minutes a game. Appeared in 24 contests with two starts. Snared seven of his 26 total rebounds off the offensive glass. Scored a season high five points on 2-for-6 shooting from the field, including one three-pointer, in a 72-46 win over Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 2. Scored four points and grabbed two rebounds in nine minutes in a 92-54 win over Idaho on Jan 12. Played a season high 13 minutes against Kent State in the University Hoops Classic in Pittsburgh, PA on Nov. 25.
As a junior, averaged 1.6 points and 1.6 rebounds in 7.1 minutes a game. Played in 21 total games, making five starts during his first year in the program. Ranked third on the team with 9 blocks despite limited playing time. Recorded a pair of blocks in Anteater’s season-ending loss in the NIT to Tulsa, UCI’s first NIT appearance since 1986. Suffered a head injury after a fall on Jan. 1 but made a strong comeback after missing eight games. Recorded season-high nine points with four rebounds against UC San Diego on Dec. 13, and grabbed season-high five rebounds in 12 minutes against UC Riverside on Feb. 24.
Played at Mira Costa College for two seasons. As a sophomore at Mira Costa, averaged 13.0 points and 8.3 rebounds, while shooting .576 from the field. Registered 54 blocks for a 1.9 average. Earned All-South Coast Conference honors. Led league in field goal percentage in conference games only (76-for-126, .603) and in blocked shots. Scored a high of 28 points against Southwestern College. Played for head coach Clete Adelman, brother of Sacramento Kings head coach Rick Adelman.
