BACKGROUND

Appeared in 30 games for the Kansas Cagerz of the USBL in 2002, averaging 8.2 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting .561 from the field. Spent 2001-02 season in Iceland with U.M.F. Tindastoll.

Played final two seasons of collegiate career at North Texas, after playing his first two years at Azusa Pacific, an NAIA school located in Azusa, CA. Sat out 1998-99 season at North Texas under NCAA transfer rules. A two-sport star who played basketball and football at both Azusa Pacific and North Texas.

As a senior, averaged 12.0 points and 7.5 rebounds. Started 27 of 28 games, averaging 27.6 minutes a contest. Led team in rebounding 14 times. Scored UNT career-high 21 points while pulling down 15 rebounds at Arkansas on Dec. 5. Matched career-high in scoring with 21 points to go along with eight rebounds against Arkansas State on Feb. 17. Had a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds at Oklahoma on Dec. 9.

As a junior, averaged 2.2 points and 2.0 rebounds. Joined team after football season and appeared in 19 games on the season. Top scoring effort came against New Mexico State on Mar.1 with nine points on 3-of-5 field goal shooting in 17 minutes of play. Grabbed season-best eight rebounds in 12 minutes at UC Irvine in the final game of the season on Mar. 4.

As a sophomore at Azusa Pacific, averaged 5.5 points and 2.8 rebounds. Appeared in 38 games, starting once while averaging 10.2 minutes a game. Paced team in field goal percentage (.514). Scored season-high 16 points against Cal Poly Pomona. Tallied 15 points against Point Loma Nazarene in the first round of the GSAC Tournament. Helped lead Azusa Pacific to a 34-5 record and an appearance in the NAIA Final Four.

As a freshman, averaged 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds. Started 29 of 35 games, averaging 15.2 minutes a contest. Led the team in field goal percentage (.590) which was good enough for fourth in the GSAC. Scored season-high 19 points in GSAC championship game against Concordia, including the game-winning free throws. Averaged 12.8 points over the team’s final seven games.

Played both quarterback and tight end on the football field. In two years at Azusa Pacific, completed 173 of 307 passes for 2,316 yards with 18 touchdowns. Originally signed to play football at the University of the Pacific before the school decided to drop football.
