BACKGROUND

Participated in training camp with the Washington Wizards in 2002. Played with the Wizards in 2001-02, averaging 3.7 points and 1.7 rebounds in 30 games. Started three times. Registered career-high 15 points against New York on Apr. 16. Grabbed season-high five rebounds on four occasions. Dished out season-high four assists at New Jersey on Apr. 9. Drafted by the Wizards in the 2nd round (#42 pick overall) of the 2001 NBA Draft.

An early entry candidate for the 2001 NBA Draft. Was the only player in DePaul history to record 1000 points, 700 rebounds, 200 assists, and 100 three-point field goals. Final point total of 1263 ranks 17th in school history. Was a member of the silver medal-winning USA Basketball World Championship for Young Men Team in the summer of 2000. Was also a member of the silver medal-winning USA Basketball Men’s Junior World Championship Team in 1999.

As a junior, averaged 16.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. Was the only player in the conference to rank in the Top 10 in scoring, rebounding, three-point field goals made, free throw shooting, and three-point field goal percentage. Posted nine double-doubles, including a career-high 35 point, 15 rebound game against Northern Illinois on Dec. 23. Scored 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against Temple on Jan. 20. Recorded 16 points, a season-high 16 rebounds, and seven assists against Houston on Feb. 7. Scored 17 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and shot 12-for-12 from the free throw line against Syracuse on Nov. 23. Registered 26 points and eight rebounds against Cincinnati on Mar. 3.

As a sophomore, averaged 13.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists. Finished second on the team in scoring and rebounding behind current Los Angeles Clippers guard Quentin Richardson. Tallied 11 double-doubles. Scored season-high 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Tulane on Feb. 2. Had 19 points and a career-high 17 rebounds against South Florida on Feb. 8. Recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds at Duke on Dec. 4. Led team with 17 points in the Conference USA Tournament finals against St. Louis on Mar. 11. Scored 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against Kansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Mar. 17. Was named Second Team All-Conference USA.

As a freshman, averaged 11.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. Was the only player on the team to start every game. Scored in double figures 19 times. Totaled a season-high 23 points and 10 rebounds against Marquette. Had 17 points and six assists in his collegiate debut at New Mexico in the Thrifty Car Rental Black Coaches Association Classic on Nov. 13. Earned C-USA All-Freshman Team honors.
