Became the first high school player selected by the
76ers in the draft since Darryl Dawkins (1975, 1st
round, 5th pick overall).
Scored 3,338 points, 768 rebounds, 650 assists and
355 steals during his career at South Gwinnett High
School (Ga.).
Had his jersey No. 23 retired at the school in February of 2006.
Winner of the 2005 Naismith Award, signifying the
nation’s top high school player and was named Mr.
Basketball in Georgia as a junior (2003-04) and a
senior (2004-05).
Hosted Louis’ Caps for Kids Drive on April 10, 2006 as part of the 76ers Drive for Kids program, which collected 1,085 hats, benefiting area pediatric oncology units.
Had his high school jersey (No. 23) retired by his alma mater, South Gwinnett High School in February of 2006.
