Golden State Warriors Assign Santa Cruz Warriors Guard Scott Machado to NBA D-League Affiliate Santa Cruz Warriors

Machado will rejoin Santa Cruz having been signed to a 10-day contract by Golden State yesterday.

NEW YORK, April 8, 2013 Ė The Golden State Warriors today assigned rookie Scott Machado to the Santa Cruz Warriors, Golden Stateís NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment is the record 175th of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons and Machado is one of a record 57 NBA players to be assigned to the NBA D-League this season.

Machado (6-2, 200, Iona) will rejoin Santa Cruz having been signed to a 10-day contract by Golden State yesterday. Prior to the GATORADE Call-Up, Machado appeared in 27 NBA D-League games this season, 18 with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and 10 with Santa Cruz. In 27 total games, he averaged 8.4 points, 5.2 assists and 23.9 minutes.

Undrafted out of Iona, Machado signed with the Houston Rockets on Sept. 6 before being waived by the team on Jan. 7. He subsequently joined the Vipers and was traded to Santa Cruz on March 8.

Machado is expected to rejoin Santa Cruz today and be available when the team travels to face the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Wednesday, April 10 for Game 1 of the teamís first round 2013 NBA D-League playoff series. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET
