Uzoh Named Performer of the Week

NEW YORK, Jan. 23, 2012 – Ben Uzoh of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played Jan. 16-22.

Uzoh, a 6-3, 205-pound guard out of Tulsa, averaged 22.3 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds in 37.0 minutes, shooting 66 percent from the floor. He scored a season-high 31 points to go with 10 assists for his first double-double of the season in a 116-104 road win over the Reno Bighorns on Jan. 21 as the Vipers went 3-0 last week.

For the season, Uzoh is averaging 20.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 37.8 minutes.

Other top performers considered included Maine’s Morris Almond, who averaged 22.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in three games; Fort Wayne’s Gilbert Brown, who averaged 16.7 points and 7.0 rebounds in three games; Iowa’s Andrew Drevo, who averaged 14.7 points and 10.0 rebounds in three games; Tulsa’s Jerome Dyson, who averaged 19.8 points and 5.5 assists in four games; Bakersfield’s Osiris Eldridge, who averaged 25.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games; Reno’s Ander Emmett, who averaged 28.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games; Springfield’s Jeff Foote, who averaged 17.3 points and 8.7 rebounds in three games; Los Angeles’ Gerald Green, who averaged 27.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games; Canton’s Manny Harris, who averaged 19.8 points and 7.0 rebounds in four games; Erie’s Jeremy Lin, who averaged 28.0 points, 12.0 assists and 11.0 rebounds in one game while on assignment from the New York Knicks; Los Angeles’ Elijah Milsap, who averaged 23.0 points and 9.7 rebounds in two games; Sioux Falls’ Casey Mitchell, who averaged 23.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in three games; Idaho’s Mikki Moore, who averaged 19.0 points and 11.0 rebounds in two games; Dakota’s Edwin Ubiles, who averaged 22.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in four games; and Texas’ Sean Williams, who averaged 23.0 points and 12.3 rebounds in three games.
