The Tennessee Tech star had appeared in three games for Utah in the 2011-12 season, and now becomes the year's 15th Assignment.
NEW YORK, Nov. 26, 2012 – The Utah Jazz today assigned rookie guard Kevin Murphy to the Reno Bighorns, the Jazz’s NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment is the first for Murphy and the 15th of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons.
Murphy (6-6, 185, Tennessee Tech) has appeared in three games for the Jazz this season, averaging 1.3 points and 3.0 minutes. Originally selected in the second round, 47th overall, of the 2012 NBA Draft, Murphy averaged 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 34.5 minutes during his senior season in 2011-12. He finished his career ranked second all-time at Tennessee Tech in scoring and was twice named All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team (2011, 2012).
Murphy is expected to join the Bighorns today and be available when the team hosts the Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday, Nov. 30 in Reno.
