10. Expansion Teams Flourish
Iowa, Utah, Rio Grande Valley and Ft. Wayne featured NBA D-League expansion teams; all four ranking within the top five in overall attendance. There will be two additional teams added to the League next season, Reno and Erie, bringing the number of teams to 16, double the league’s total of just three years ago.

9. NBA D-League Dominates The Internet
This year marked the birth of NBA Futurecast, the live web-streaming of every game available free at nba.com/futurecast. The site also featured the interactive blog of president Dan Reed called Reed and Write. These two special features contributed to the site recording 4 million visits (including several Dakota Wizards above) this season, a jump of 15% over last year.

8. Rockets Establish Franchise Record With 22 Straight Wins
The Houston Rockets set an NBA record with a 22-game winning streak that lasted from Jan. 29 until Mar. 16. There were six players with NBA D-League experience on Houston’s roster at the close of the streak – Rafer Alston, Chuck Hayes, Mike Harris, Aaron Brooks (above), Steve Novak and Justin Williams.

7. 2008 NBA D-League Showcase presented by adidas
The 2008 NBA D-League Showcase presented by adidas featured 14 games played over four days at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho. The event was highlighted by outstanding play, the presence of over 60 NBA executives and the Jan. 17 recall of Shannon Brown to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Showcase was also featured in a multi-page article in Sports Illustrated.

6. Records Shattered in ’08
The 2007-08 season saw single-game records established for most points, rebounds, assists and blocked shots. The new marks are:
Morris Almond (above): 53 points (Jan. 30 @ Bakersfield)
Rod Benson: 28 rebounds (Dec. 9, 2007 @ Sioux Falls)
Randy Livingston: 22 assists (Dec. 26, 2007 vs. Bakersfield)
Cheikh Samb: 11 blocks (Feb. 2 @ Sioux Falls).

5. Former D-League player captures first-ever NBA monthly award.
Ramon Sessions (above) who played 24 games with the Tulsa 66ers in 2008 earned the T-Mobile Rookie of the Month award for April marking the first time a player with NBA D-League experience has garnered an NBA monthly award. The highlight for Sessions during the month was a league-high 24-assist outing against the Chicago Bulls on April 14. Sessions was one of 76 NBA players this season to have spent time in the NBA D-League.

4. NBA D-League Dream Factory Friday Night
The NBA D-League presented its first-ever skills competition at NBA All-Star 2008 in New Orleans, called Dream Factory Friday Night. The winners included Carlos Powell who won Hot Shot, Brent Petway (above) who prevailed in the slam dunk competition, Lance Allred who emerged victorious in HORSE and Adam Harrington, winner of the Three-Point Shootout.

3. NBA D-League registers record number of Gatorade Call-Ups and player assignments.
This season the NBA D-League established records for most Gatorade call-ups in a season, 29, including the 100th in league history - Rio Grande Valley’s C.J. Watson (above) to the Golden State Warriors on Jan. 8. There were also a season-high 53 player-assignments to the D-League including Morris Almond who recorded two 50-point games this season, and former Duke standout Josh McRoberts, a member of the championship-winning Idaho Stampede.

2. NBA Development League welcomes nearly 900,000 fans to arenas this season.
This season the NBA D-League’s attendance rose by 21.6%, with nearly 900,000 fans enjoying the fun and excitement D-League games offered. The total includes an all-time record crowd of 8,842 who witnessed the first-ever Iowa Energy home game on Nov. 26, 2007.

1. Idaho Stampede establish numerous records en route to capturing the title.
The Idaho Stampede set records with an 18-game winning streak (Dec. 19, 2007 – Feb. 8), a .720 winning percentage (36-14) and most home wins (21). While compiling these unparalleled numbers, Idaho’s players established a host of individual records, head coach Bryan Gates captured his second straight Dennis Johnson Coach of the Year award and two players earned Gatorade Call-Ups; Luke Jackson on Dec. 12 and Lance Allred, Mar. 13.
