Texas Legends Acquire Top Prospect Justin Dentmon, Luther Head from Austin Toros in Exchange for Top Prospect Chris Roberts

Two of the league's Top Prospects change hands in big NBA D-League deal

FRISCO, TX, (Jan. 22, 2013) Ė The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), announced today that they have signed guards Justin Dentmon and Luther Head from the Austin Toros in a trade that sends Chris Roberts to Austin.

Dentmon (6-0, 185, Washington) is the reigning MVP of the NBA D-League. Undrafted out of Washington he played his first season with the Legends averaging 18.7ppg, 3.4rpg, and 3.9apg before being traded to the Toros in 2011. Last season he averaged 22.8 pts, 5.5 assists and 3.7 rebounds starting all 40 regular season games. He was named to the D-League All Star team ranking fourth in the League in scoring and finishing with double-digit points in 39 of 40 games. Dentmon also received two GATORADE Call-ups in the same season, playing five games with the Toronto Raptors (5.5 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 2.3 apg) and two games with the San Antonio Spurs. In 2011 Dentmon received a bronze medal as a member of the USA Menís Basketball team.

Head (6-3, 185, Illinois) is a six-year veteran of the NBA, having spent time with the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings. Head was drafted in the first round of the 2005 NBA Draft by the Rockets and in his second season played 80 games averaging a career-high 10.9 points. In six games with the Toros this season he has averaged 9.3 pts.

Roberts, a 6-foot-4 guard out of Bradley who played in NBA Summer League with the Dallas Mavericks, has made himself into one of the best wings in the NBA D-League, going for 18 points, 6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 steals a night.
