Spurs' Danny Green Takes Championship Trophy Home to New York
Danny Green is a man who does not forget his roots.
He still appreciates the opportunity the Reno Bighorns gave him in the NBA D-League three years ago, when his career was at a crossroads.
And he still shares the glory of being a key part of the Spurs' championship lineup with his small hometown on Long Island, New York.
Green got his chance to bring the Larry O'Brien trophy home to North Babylon over the weekend in the latest leg of the Spurs' Trophy Tour.
Locals gathered to greet him at an elementary school before he took off down the parade route in a BMW. He was honored by being given the key to the city, winning the Distinguished Service Award and having a basketball court named after him.
Parade was great, such a humbling experienced being honored for so many things in my hometown...thank you everyone who showed up— Danny Green (@DGreen_14) July 26, 2014
