Springfield's Willie Reed Signs with Memphis Grizzlies for Year's 35th GATORADE Call-Up

One of the year's best success stories, Reed used the league to tap into his potential and turned into an elite forward on both sides of the floor

NEW YORK, April 17, 2013 The Memphis Grizzlies today signed Springfield Armor forward Willie Reed for the 35th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2012-13 NBA Development League season. Reed joins 128 players with NBA D-League experience currently on NBA rosters.

Reed (6-10, 220, St. Louis) has appeared in 48 regular season games, 30 starts, for the Armor this season, averaging 14.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 29.3 minutes. He recorded 12 point-rebound double-doubles during the season, leading the team in scoring on 10 occasions and rebounding in 11 games.

The NBA D-League Performer of the Week on March 18, Reed returns to the NBA having played in four games with the Sacramento Kings during the 2012 NBA preseason.

He is expected to join the Grizzlies today and be available when the team hosts the Utah Jazz at FedEx Forum in Memphis at 8 p.m. ET.
