Second Round of NBA D-League Playoffs Begin April 17

NEW YORK, April 14, 2014 -- The second round of the 2014 NBA D-League Playoffs tip off on Thursday, April 17, with games between the top-seeded Fort Wayne Mad Ants and the fourth-seeded Sioux Falls Skyforce and the fifth-seeded Rio Grande Valley Vipers and sixth-seeded Santa Cruz Warriors. The Mad Ants and Skyforce tip off at 8 p.m. ET in South Dakota, while the Vipers and Warriors begin in California at 9:30 p.m. ET.

Fort Wayne, the East Division Champion, advanced to the second round for the first time in team history following a two-game sweep of the eighth-seeded Reno Bighorns. The Skyforce punched their ticket to the Semi-Finals in a decisive third game against the Canton Charge tonight in Sioux Falls.

Tonight in Des Moines, the fifth-seeded Vipers earned a second-round berth having up-ended the Central Division Champion Iowa Energy in three games. They’ll face the sixth-seeded Warriors, who swept the West Division Champion Los Angeles D-Fenders, in a rematch of the 2013 NBA D-League Finals.

Both series will play Game 2 and 3, if necessary, on the home court of the higher seeded team.

Dates and times for the best-of-three NBA D-League Finals, which will follow the same format as the second round, have yet to be determined and will be announced when they are available. A broadcast schedule for the second round is forthcoming.
