San Antonio Spurs' NBA D-League Alums Celebrate NBA Title

It took a total team effort for the San Antonio Spurs to capture the 2014 NBA title, including the efforts of five NBA D-League alums. Two in particular -- steady shooting guard Danny Green and Australian spark plug Patty Mills -- shined on the grand NBA Finals stage over the past 11 days.

While Green came up big in Games 1 and 3, it was Mills who caught fire in two victories that clinched the Spurs their fifth championship in the past 15 years. The 25-year-old guard, who made his pro debut with the Idaho Stampede in 2010, erupted for 14 points in 7 minutes during the pivotal third quarter of Game 5, making all five of his shot attempts (four from beyond the arc):
