Reno's Bobby Simmons Re-Signs With Los Angeles Clippers

NEW YORK, March 24, 2012 The Los Angeles Clippers today signed Reno Bighorns forward Bobby Simmons for the 40th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2011-12 NBA Development League season. Simmons joins more than 100 NBA players with NBA D-League experience currently on 2011-12 rosters.

Simmons re-joins the Clippers following a 13-game stint earlier this season, when he averaged 3.5 points and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 37 percent from three-point territory.

In 21 games, 18 starts, with the Bighorns this season, Simmons (6-8, 220) averaged 13.5 points and 7.6 rebounds in 32.4 minutes. Simmons has scored more than 20 points three times and recorded two double-doubles, including a 19-point, 18-rebound performance on Feb. 18, against the Idaho Stampede.

Selected in the second round (42nd overall) by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2001 NBA Draft, Simmons has appeared in 451 NBA games over 10 NBA season, averaging 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 25.1 minutes.

Simmons is expected to re-join the Clippers today and be available this afternoon when the team hosts the Memphis Grizzlies.
