D-League Performer of the Week: November 26, 2007
The first NBA player to be assigned to the D-League in 2007-08, Sessions led the Tulsa 66ers to a 2-0 start over the opening weekend of the season. Sessions scored 27 points with nine rebounds and four assists, all team-highs, in Tulsa's 94-86 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Friday night. He returned on Saturday with a 34-point, six rebound, six assist performance in Tulsa's 117-109 win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce. He is currently second in the league with a 30.5 point scoring average and also ranks among the league leaders with 7.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists.
Sessions was the 56th overall selection in the 2007 NBA Draft out of Nevada. He earned second-team All-WAC honors during his junior season with the Wolfpack. He joins the Pistons' Amir Johnson and the Mavericks' Jose Barea as NBA assigned players to win Performer of the Week during their time in the D-League.
Josh Gross, Albuquerque: Gross averaged 28.0 points to lead the Thunderbirds to a 2-0 start. He also recorded six steals in Albuquerque's season opener against Idaho.
Keith Langford, Austin: Langford is leading the D-League with a 31.0 points per game after the first weekend of the season. He also ranks second among the Toros with 7.5 rebounds.
JamesOn Curry, Iowa: On assignment from the Chicago Bulls, Curry helped the expansion Energy start the season with two straight wins by averaging 24.0 points and 6.5 assists.
Dwayne Mitchell, Iowa: Mitchell, Iowa's first round pick in the 2007 draft, leads the 2-0 Energy with 25.0 points per game. He scored 34 points, tied with Sessions and Langford for the D-League season's high, in Saturday's win over Dakota.
Gabe Muoneke, Rio Grande Valley: Muoneke is averaging 27.0 points for the Vipers, who have won their first two games of the season.
