NEW YORK, Nov. 29, 2010 – Othyus Jeffers of the Iowa Energy was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Nov. 21.
A 6-5, 200-pound guard/forward, Jeffers led Iowa to a 2-1 record for the week, averaging 25.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals. Iowa earned a 111-103 win over Dakota on Monday and split back-to-back games against Tulsa on Friday and Saturday.
Jeffers put up 32 points, 18 rebounds and four assists in Iowa’s 123-111 victory at Tulsa on Friday. Though the 66ers earned a 116-108 win over the Energy on Saturday, Jeffers had a game-high 31 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Other top performers last week included Austin’s Lewis Clinch, who averaged 24.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in two games; Bakersfield’s Trey Johnson, who averaged 25.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in two games; Dakota’s Chris Johnson, who averaged 26.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game; Idaho’s Walter Sharpe, who averaged 19.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in two games; Maine’s DeShawn Sims, who averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in two games; New Mexico’s Alan Anderson, who averaged 27.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games, and Shane Edwards, who averaged 22.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in two games; Reno’s Patrick Ewing Jr., who averaged 18.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in two games, and Aaron Miles, who averaged 16.5 points, 12.5 assists and 6.0 rebounds in two games; Rio Grande Valley’s Jerel McNeal, who averaged 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games; Springfield’s Scottie Reynolds, who averaged 25.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in two games; Texas’ Joe Alexander, who averaged 19.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in two games, and Antonio Daniels, who averaged 17.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.5 assists in two games; Tulsa’s Zabian Dowdell, who averaged 22.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in two games; and Utah’s Orien Greene, who averaged 25.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games.
