Iowa's Chris Wright Signs with Dallas Mavericks as Year's 25th GATORADE Call-Up

Wright, who was diagnosed last year with M.S., managed his illness to turn himself into one of the NBA D-League's elite point guards

NEW YORK, March 13, 2013 The Dallas Mavericks today signed Iowa Energy guard Chris Wright for the 25th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2012-13 NBA Development League season. Wright joins 122 players with NBA D-League experience currently on NBA rosters.

Wright (6-1, 210, Georgetown) has played in 38 games, all starts, for the Energy this season, averaging 15.5 points, 7.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 37.0 minutes. He has scored at least thirty points in two games, finishing with at least 20 points in eight other contests. A 2013 NBA D-League All-Star, Wright scored 15 points and dished out seven assists as his Futures team defeated the Prospects Squad in Houston.

A four-year member of the Hoyas, Wright averaged 12.4 points, 4.0 assists and 31.3 minutes in 110 career NCAA games.

Wright is expected to join the Mavericks today and be available tomorrow when the team travels to San Antonio to take on the Spurs at 8 p.m. ET.
