EL SEGUNDO -- The Los Angeles Lakers have recalled guard Jordan Farmar from the NBA Development League’s Los Angeles D-Fenders for the second time in the last three days, it was announced today.
Farmar, who became the 24th NBA player assigned to a D-League affiliate this season on March 31, was reassigned to the D-Fenders April 2 after becoming the first player in league history to see action in same-day D-League and NBA games on April 1. Players in their first or second NBA seasons can be sent to the Development League up to three times in one season.
After tallying 20 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists and 33 minutes in this afternoon’s victory over the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, Farmar is averaging 19.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 36.8 minutes in two games with the D-Fenders.
In 63 games with the Lakers this season, Farmar, the 26th overall selection in the 2006 NBA Draft, is averaging 4.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
