2008 Expansion Draft Board

NEW YORK, Sept. 24, 2008 – The Reno Bighorns selected the rights to forward Damone Brown from Syracuse University with the first selection in the 2008 NBA Development League Expansion Draft. With the second pick, the Erie BayHawks drafted the rights to Mike Gansey, a guard from West Virginia University.
Brown, 6-9, played in eight games during the 2007-08 NBA D-League season as a member of the Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 18.1 points and 8.4 rebounds. Drafted in the second round of the 2001 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, Brown owns NBA career averages of 2.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 9.0 minutes. He has played for the 76ers, Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets, Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers and Utah Jazz.
The 6-4 Gansey appeared in 19 games for the Anaheim Arsenal during the 2007-08 NBA D-League season, averaging 2.8 points and 1.8 rebounds. A 2006 graduate of West Virginia, Gansey averaged 14.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in 68 career-games as a Mountaineer. Following his collegiate career, Gansey played with the Miami Heat in the 2006 Pepsi Pro Summer League, posting averages of 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds.
Other top selections included Jesse Smith (Idaho State) and Jamaal Thomas (Angelo State), whose rights were selected by Reno and Kris Lang (North Carolina) and Dahntay Jones (Duke), whose rights were drafted by Erie.
