NEW YORK, Aug. 31, 2010 – The NBA Development League’s new team, the Texas Legends, took the first step towards formulating their roster for the upcoming 2010-11 season with the completion of the 2010 NBA D-League Expansion Draft yesterday.
The Legends selected 10 players from a 14-player pool compromised of the “Returning Player List” of the 2009-10 Los Angeles D-Fenders, which will be on hiatus during the 2010-11 NBA D-League season.
“The Expansion Draft gave the Legends an opportunity to begin crafting their 2010-11 roster,” said Chris Alpert, Vice President of Basketball Operations and Player Personnel for the NBA D-League. “It affords Texas the opportunity to draft the rights to returning players with valuable NBA D-League experience.”
The Legends were provided with a list of the 14 players last week, and submitted a written copy of their selections to the NBA D-League yesterday.
The complete list of players the Legends selected in the Expansion Draft is below.
