NBA D-League Cares Fact Sheet

Through D-League Cares, the NBA D-League is deeply committed to addressing important social issues with a special emphasis on programs that support education, local community building and youth basketball. Through various year-round programs, the NBA D-League strives to provide unparalleled time and access to the players, coaches and staff in order to improve the quality of life in our communities.

D-League Cares is a part of NBA Cares, an initiative through which the leagues, players and teams will:

- Raise and contribute $100 million to charity
- Donate more than 1 million hours of hand-on volunteer service to communities worldwide
- Create 250 places where kids and families can live, learn and/or play.

Education Local Community Building

The NBA D-League teams are committed to enriching the lives of all of the people who live and work in the communities that our teams play in. D-League teams actively pursue volunteer activities in the community, schools and at local non-profit organizations.

Youth Basketball

The NBA D-League strives to develop a love of basketball in youth as an extension of the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Program in each of our 16 local markets. The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA aims to develop a life-long passion for the game of basketball and to promote fundamental skill development, team work and sportsmanship by providing a support structure and instruction materials to participants.

NBA D-League Showcase

The annual NBA D-League Showcase features all 16 teams playing two games each, under one roof. The Showcase is the NBA D-Leagueˇ¦s way to promote its talent to NBA teams and show the host community the best of what the league has to offer. Players, coaches, team and league staffs undertake a variety of community outreach projects which highlight their sense of volunteerism and goodwill towards the host community.
