NEW YORK, March 12, 2012 – Luke Harangody, on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Canton Charge, and Donald Sloan of the Erie BayHawks were today named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played March 5-11. Harangody becomes the first NBA assigned player and the second member of the Charge to earn the honor this season. Sloan is recognized with the award for the first time in his career.
Harangody, a 6-8, 240-pound forward from Notre Dame, averaged 24.3 points and 14.3 rebounds while shooting 62 percent from the floor as Canton went 3-0 on the week. He began the week with double-doubles (March 8 at Springfield and March 10 vs. Maine) before finishing the week with a 30-point game (March 11 vs. Reno).
Sloan, a 6-3, 205-pound guard from Texas A&M, averaged 22.0 points, 8.5 assists and 6.0 rebounds last week when the BayHawks went 2-0. He finished with his best game of the week on March 9 against Reno when he scored 29 points on 12-of-21 shooting.
For the season, Sloan is averaging 24.0 points, 8.4 assists and 5.4 rebounds in seven games while Harangody owns averages of 18.8 points and 11.5 rebounds in six games.
Other top performers considered included Austin’s Justin Dentmon, who averaged 27.3 points and 4.7 assists in three games; Bakersfield’s Juan Pattillo, who averaged 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games; Dakota’s Edwin Ubiles, who averaged 22.0 points and 5.7 rebounds in three games; Fort Wayne’s Ron Howard, who averaged 17.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in two games; Idaho’s Paul Carter, who averaged 16.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games; Iowa’s Mike Efevberha, who averaged 24.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games; Maine’s Kenny Hayes, who averaged 20.5 points and 9.3 rebounds in four games; Reno’s Blake Ahearn, who averaged 23.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in two games; Springfield’s Dennis Horner, who averaged 21.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in two games; Sioux Falls’ Anthony Mason, Jr., who averaged 26.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in two games and Tulsa’s Marcus Lewis, who averaged 19.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in two games.
