NEW YORK, Jan. 26, 2012 – The Los Angeles Clippers today assigned guard Eric Bledsoe to the Bakersfield Jam, the Clippers’ NBA D-League affiliate. The assignment marks the 28th time an NBA player has been assigned to his NBA D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season and is the first of Bledsoe’s career.
Originally selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round (18th overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft, Bledsoe (6-1, 185, Kentucky) was traded to the Clippers on Draft night. In 81 games (25 starts) for the Clippers last season, Bledsoe averaged 6.7 points, 3.6 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 22.7 minutes. He has yet to see action for the Clippers this season after undergoing surgery on Oct. 7, 2011 to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee. The injury originally occurred during an offseason workout.
Clippers fans can stay in step with Bledsoe, who is expected to join the Jam today and be available tonight when the team hosts the Los Angeles D-Fenders, by logging onto nba.com/futurecast to watch all of Bakersfield’s games live, online, for free.
