Austin Toros' Eric Dawson Signs with NBA's San Antonio Spurs

NEW YORK, Feb. 20, 2012 – The San Antonio Spurs today signed forward Eric Dawson for the 26th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2011-12 NBA Development League season. Dawson joins more than 90 NBA Players with NBA D-League experience currently on 2011-12 rosters.

In 18 games with the Toros this season, Dawson (6-9, 250) averaged 15.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.7 blocks in 29.3 minutes. He has recorded 12 double-doubles, including a season-high 28 points in a 105-100 win over the Springfield Armor on Dec. 29, 2011.

In 67 career games with the Toros, Dawson averaged 11.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 23.8 minutes.

Dawson is expected to join the Spurs today and be available tonight when the team travels to face the Utah Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena.
