NEW YORK, Dec. 5, 2001 – Columbus’ forward
Tremaine Fowlkes was named the National Basketball Development League Player of the Month for games in November.
Fowlkes averaged 18.2 ppg on .452 (28-62 FGA) shooting along with 6.3 rpg and 1.17 spg in leading the Riverdragons to a 4-2 record for the month and second place in the NBDL.
Here is a look at Fowlkes’ highlights from the month:
- Scored in double-figures in all six Riverdragons games including 20+ points in four of six games.
- Scored 16 points (4-9 FGA, 7-9 FTA) in his first start of the season leading the Riverdragons to an 87-84 win at Mobile on November 23.
- Came back the next night and notched 21 points (6-14 FGA, 9-12 FTA), eight rebounds and three steals over 32 minutes vs. Huntsville on November 24.
- Recorded team’s first double-double with 20 points (5-14 FGA, 10-11 FTA) and 12 rebounds (including 10 offensive rebounds) in an 80-76 win over Roanoke on November 26.
- Scored a season-high 22 points (6-11 FGA, 10-12 FTA) along with five rebounds and two steals over 27 minutes in an 84-77 win over Huntsville on November 30.
- Averaged 19.8 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 1.25 spg in leading the club to a 3-1 mark as they moved into second place in the league after being inserted into the Riverdragons’ starting lineup for the final four games of the month.
- Made 20-23 FTA (.870) during two game stretch (November 24-26).
- Is currently 3rd in the NBDL in scoring (17.9 ppg) and 2nd on the team in rebounding (5.9 rpg)
