GREENVILLE, S.C., March 3 – Roanoke guard Marque Perry has been named the National Basketball Development League Player of the Month for games played during February.
Over 10 games in February, Perry averaged 20.1 points, 6.9 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game while leading the Dazzle to a 6-4 record. He converted 72-of-138 field goal attempts (.522) and 54-of-69 free throw attempts (.783). Perry attempted just six 3-pointers in the month, but connected on three of them.
Perry scored in double figures in every game during the month, and capped off the 10-game span with a 40-point outburst against Huntsville on Feb. 28. He also recorded three double-doubles, passing out 10 or more assists against Columbus (Feb. 8), Asheville (Feb. 11) and Fayetteville (Feb. 21).
The rookie from St. Louis is the second NBDL player of the month for Roanoke this season. Forward George Williams earned the honor in November.
Also nominated for February Player of the Month were Greg Stevenson of Asheville, Rod Grizzard of Huntsville, Derrick Zimmerman and Terence Morris of Columbus, as well as Junie Sanders of Fayetteville.
