Play-By-Play Commentator
ESPN: Mark Jones
Mark Jones, who first worked for ESPN in 1990, serves as a play-by-play commentator on ESPN2 college football telecasts.
Previously, he has hosted ESPN's NBA Today and on occasion served as an anchor/reporter on SportsCenter. He made his ESPN debut in October 1990.
Besides working for ESPN, Jones has worked for ABC Sports (since August 1990) where his duties have included college football, college basketball, the World League and various events on "ABC's Wide World of Sports."
Prior to joining both ESPN and ABC Sports, Jones worked for The Sports Network (Toronto, Canada) from 1986-90, where he had been the anchor on the sports desk and the host of the Toronto Blue Jays magazine show.
Jones, a native of Toronto, graduated from York University in Toronto with a bachelor of arts degree in economics in 1985. While at York, he was a four-year member of the basketball team.
Jones, born November, 16, 1961, is married.
