REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONS
The Asheville Altitude clinched the 2003-04 NBDL regular season championship with a 122-113 victory over Fayetteville Saturday. NBDL President Phil Evans will present the Altitude with the Regular Season Championship Trophy prior to the NBDL Delta Air Lines Postseason Classic semifinal game against Fayetteville on April 17.
THE CLASSIC
It took until the final day of the regular season, but the NBDL Delta Air Lines Postseason Classic is finally set. Both games of the semifinal round are set for Saturday, April 17. Fayetteville will visit Asheville for a 7:15 p.m. ET tip. Huntsville will travel to Charleston for a 7:30 p.m. ET tipoff. The final game will be played either April 24 or 25, depending on which team is hosting.
HOW THE CLASSIC WORKS
It's a single-elimination final four style format. The winners of the two semifinal games play the next weekend at the seed of the highest remaining team in a one-game, winner-take-all postseason championship game.
STRONG ALTITUDE FINISH
Coach Joey Meyer's Asheville team climbed out of the December NBDL basement to win 25 of its final 35 games, including a 14-3 run since March 2. The Altitude carries a five-game win streak into the postseason.
DAZZLE FIZZLE
The Roanoke Dazzle finished the season by losing its final 10 games and missing out on the postseason.
RODNEY REBOUND
Huntsville's Rodney Bias broke his own NBDL single-game rebounding record by collecting 22 boards in just 29 minutes in a win at Columbus on Saturday. Bias had shared the previous record with 20.
CONGRATS, NOW BACK TO ASHEVILLE
Fayetteville split this weekend to earn the final berth in the postseason classic. The reward for their trouble, a third trip to Asheville in as many weekends. The Patriots have lost four straight at Asheville, allowing an average of 118.3 points in the process.

In Michael Jordan's book, "For The Love of the Game”, Jordan claims that current Columbus coach “Jeff Malone was one of the toughest guys I played against during my career. I could play solid defense against him and he still could make big baskets." Malone played 13 NBA seasons and was a two-time All-Star.
