JORDAN EGLSEDER
TO JOIN RED CLAWS
7-0 Center to Replace Injured
Magnum Rolle
PORTLAND, ME
- The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that they
have acquired 7-0, 280 lb. center Jordan Eglseder via the Available Player Pool.
Eglseder joined the team in Springfield and is expected to play tonight.
Eglseder replaces center Magnum Rolle, who has been sidelined indefinitely with
a knee injury. The team has waived Rolle due to injury, and he is expected to
return to the team when healthy.
Eglseder, 22, joins the Red Claws from the defending NBA Development League
champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers, who waived the rookie center on November 22.
He participated in the Houston Rockets training camp this season and played for
the Detroit Piston in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Eglseder finished his
four-year career at Northern Iowa with averages of 9.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and
1.02 blocks in 118 games (75 starts). Eglseder started all 32 games in 2009-10,
averaging 11.9 points and 7.2 rebounds en route to the Panthers upset of
number-one ranked Kansas in the second round of the NCAA Tournament and a
school-record 30 wins. As a senior, Eglseder was a NABC District-16 First Team
selection, a USBWA All-District pick and earned All-Tournament Team honors at
the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. Eglseder will wear #33 for the Red
Claws.
“Magnum
has quickly become a fan favorite in his short time in Maine, and we know Red
Claws fans wish him well and look forward to his return.” said Red Claws
President and General Manager Jon Jennings. “We are pleased to welcome Jordan to
our team. He is a very skilled player and gives us needed size due to all of our
injuries.”
The Red
Claws are in Springfield this weekend to take on the Springfield Armor tonight
at 7 PM and tomorrow at Noon, returning to Springfield next Thursday for their
third straight matchup at the MassMutual Center. The team will then return home
on Friday, December 3 to face the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 7 PM and the Armor on
Sunday, December 5 at 5 PM. Great seats remain for both games.
