JEROME RANDLE BUYS OUT NBA D-LEAGUE CONTRACT
Guard Acquired in December Trade Expected to Play Overseas
PORTLAND, ME (February 2, 2012)- The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that guard Jerome Randle has bought out of his NBA Development League contract.
Randle, 23, a 5-10, 172 lb. guard, was acquired on December 30 by the Red Claws, along with forward Lawrence Hill, in a trade that sent Maine’s 2nd and 3rd round selections in the 2012 NBA Development League Draft to the Texas Legends. Undrafted out of the University of California - Berkeley, Randle spent the 2010-11 season playing in Turkey and participated in the Dallas Mavericks’ 2011 training camp before signing into the NBA D-League.
The Red Claws will be on the road for the next two weeks, beginning tonight in Fort Wayne where they will take on the Mad Ants at 7 PM. On Sunday, February 12 the Red Claws will return home to face the Texas Legends at 5 PM in an early Valentine’s contest. On February 16, the team will host Pink Night, as the players will don pink jerseys to honor breast cancer survivors and help raise awareness for breast cancer research. February 16 will also be DeShawn Sims Rookie of the Year Bobblehead Night with the first 1,000 fans receiving a collectible, courtesy of Wright Express.
