After Second Trip to NBA, Point Guard Rejoins Teammates at NBADL Showcase

PORTLAND, ME (January 9, 2013) – The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, today announced that they have reacquired point guard Shelvin Mack. Mack, who cleared NBA waivers at 5 PM (ET) tonight, is expected to be in the lineup tonight as the Red Claws face the Bakersfield Jam in their second game at the 2012 NBA Development League Showcase in Reno, NV.

Mack started 11 games for the Red Claws, leading the team with 19.7 points per game and averaging 7.5 assists, before being signed by the Washington Wizards on Christmas Day. It was Mack’s second trip to the NBA, having played in 64 games with the Wizards last season. Mack appeared in 8 games for Washington this season, averaging 5.5 points per game.

The Red Claws Jam, the top team in the NBA Development League’s West Division, tonight at 6:30 PM (ET). Maine will be looking to make up ground on the Erie BayHawks, who are also in action tonight at the Showcase; Erie knocked the Red Claws out of first place in the East Division earlier this week.

Tonight marks the fourth of six games in nine days for the Red Claws, who will travel to Springfield, MA following the NBA D-League Showcase. Maine takes on the Springfield Armor at the MassMutual Center on Friday before returning home Saturday for the second game of a home-and-home set with the Armor.
