Maine Red Claws Name Ryan Donovan Athletic Trainer

PORTLAND, Maine - October 17, 2013 - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, today announced that they have named Ryan Donovan, L-ATC, the team's new Athletic Trainer.

Ryan comes to the team from Physiotherapy Associates in Peabody, MA, where he worked with patients suffering from both athletic and non-athletic injuries, applying advanced rehabilitation and conditioning programs. Additionally, Ryan most recently served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Ipswich (MA) High School, providing medical coverage to all athletic teams and was responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment and acute management of injuries.

Donovan graduated from Endicott College in Beverly, MA, with a degree in Athletic Training. During his four years, Ryan worked with 10 of the school's athletic teams while completing three years of clinical training and an internship his senior year.

A Reading, MA, native, Ryan is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, and in addition to his Athletic Training, is certified in CPR/AED by the American Heart Association and Concussions in Sports by the National Federation of State High School Associations.

Individual game tickets for the 2013-14 season go on sale Monday, October 21. The Red Claws kick off their season on Friday, November 22 with a 7:00 game at the Portland Expo against the Springfield Armor.
