RED CLAWS ACQUIRE GUARD TERREL HARRIS
Oklahoma State Standout Joins
Team from France
PORTLAND, ME
- The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced
that they have acquired Terrel Harris, a rookie guard out of Oklahoma
State University, from the available player pool. To make room on the
roster, the Red Claws waived rookie guard Abdulai “Dula” Jalloh. The
announcement was made by Red Claws President and General Manager Jon
Jennings.
Harris, 22, joins the Red Claws from Strasbourg IG (France-ProA) where
he appeared in 9 games this season and averaged 8.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg and 1.7
apg. He spent four years with the Oklahoma State University Cowboys
where he was named to the 2009 Big 12 All-Defensive Team after a stellar
senior season (35 games: 13.9ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.9apg, Steals 1.7spg (4th
in conference), FGP: 48.8%, 3PT: 37.7%, FT: 78.5%).
“We are happy to be able to acquire a player such as Terrel Harris,”
said Jennings. “He will
bring a lot of intensity and a defensive presence to the team.”
The Red Claws will next be in action tomorrow as they host the
Springfield Armor on “Elvis Night.” The game, which will be the first of
four back-to-back games with Portland High School this month, will tip
off at 8 PM. The halftime entertainment will be provided by renowned
Elvis tribute artist Johnny Thompson, considered by many to be one of
the top Elvis impersonators in the country, in honor of what would have
been Elvis Presley’s 75th birthday. The team will then travel
to Springfield to complete the home-and-home series on Saturday.
