Chris Wright Reacquired by Red Claws

PORTLAND, Maine – March 25, 2014 – The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, announced today that All-Star forward Chris Wright (6-8, 225, Dayton) has returned to the team following the conclusion of his 10-day contract with the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks. Wright will be active and in the lineup for Maine’s game on Wednesday at Canton.

Prior to his call-up on March 14, Wright had appeared in 38 games (all starts) for the Red Claws, posting averages of 19.5 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. Wright has recorded 13 point/rebound double doubles on the season with Maine, including six in his previous eight games with the club.

During his time with Milwaukee, Wright appeared in two games for the Bucks, registering three points and one steal in seven minutes of action in a 115-94 loss to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, and recording nine points (4-5 FG), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 26 minutes in a 124-107 loss to the Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena.

The Call-up to Milwaukee was the second of Wright’s career. During his rookie season in 2011-12, the Golden State Warriors signed the Dayton product where he appeared in 24 games, averaging 2.9 points and 1.9 rebounds.

After the Thursday night game in Canton, the Red Claws return to Portland for their final three home games (Friday, 3/28 vs. Sioux Falls – 7 p.m., Sunday, 3/30 vs. Sioux Falls – 1 p.m., Monday, 3/31 vs. Fort Wayne – 7 p.m.) before traveling for road games in Fort Wayne and Iowa on April 3-4 to conclude the 2013-14 season.
