PORTLAND, ME (July 31, 2009) – The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that Benjamin Pringle has been hired as the team’s athletic trainer. The announcement was made by Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings.

A certified athletic trainer and strength and conditioning specialist, he has worked with many NBA D-League players during three consecutive NBA summer leagues in Las Vegas, NV, as well as those invited to the Trail Blazers training camps. The Salem, MA native holds a bachelor's of science in athletic training from Northeastern University and participated in the co-op and clinical programs at Northeastern, interning at Northeastern University, Babson College, Boston Center for Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, Pro Sports Therapy, UMass-Boston, and with the Boston Celtics. Pringle also worked as a personal trainer at the Marino Recreation Center for three years while at Northeastern.

“Ben was a former intern of mine at the Celtics and has worked with the athletic training staff for the Trail Blazers the past two seasons,” said Celtics Athletic Trainer, Ed Lacerte. “While Ben interned with us, he gained valuable experience in the athletic training room with me and proved to be a great asset. I am very excited for him in his new position, and I know that he will do a fantastic job for the Red Claws.”
