PA ANNOUNCER FINALISTS TO
WJAB 96.3
Listeners to Vote for Favorite in Online Vote
PORTLAND, ME –
The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that
the three PA announcer finalists selected during last weekend’s open
auditions will appear on WJAB 96.3 FM this week for the second round of
auditions. The three candidates are Frank Stetson, Mike Violette, and
John Leonard.
The three finalists have voices familiar to Maine sports fans. Violette
has more than 30 years experience in morning radio in Maine, Leonard has
appeared in commercials for Lampron Energy, Maine Harness Racing and the
Pirates, and Stetson is the original voice of the Lewiston Maineiacs and
has called high school football and basketball games for local radio.
More than 150 people auditioned for the position.
The candidates will appear on the PM Jab with Chris Sedenka, the voice
of the Maine Red Claws on consecutive days this week: John Leonard on
Wednesday at 5 PM, Frank Stetson on Thursday at 4:45 PM, and Mike
Violette on Friday at 3:05 PM. All three auditions will re-air on Friday
and will be posted on WJAB’s website, www.thebigjab.com, where
listeners will be able to vote for their favorite. The winner will be
announced on air Monday, August 3 during the PM Jab.
