Open Auditions to Be Held July 25 at Expo

PORTLAND, ME (June 15, 2009) – The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, today announced that they will partner with WJAB 96.3 FM, The Big Jab, to select the PA Announcer for their inaugural season. The announcement was made by Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings.

The Red Claws will hold open auditions on Saturday, July 25 from 10 AM – 2 PM at the Portland Expo Building. Contestants will be judged on voice quality, game knowledge, creativity and the ability to follow a script. Three finalists will be selected on July 25, and those finalists will be invited on-air with the voice of the Maine Red Claws, Chris Sedenka, host of the PM Jab on WJAB 96.3 FM, for one final audition. WJAB listeners will then make the final decision with an online vote on www.TheBigJab.com. WJAB is the flagship station of the Maine Red Claws.

Contestants interested in auditioning can contact the Red Claws’ office at 207-210-6655 for further information. Anyone unable to attend the July 25 open auditions may submit an audition tape. Tapes should be mailed to the Red Claws at PO Box 15180, Portland, ME 04112 or dropped off at the team’s offices located at 413 Congress Street in Portland. All tapes must be received no later than 5 PM on Friday, July 24.
