Red Claws Receive Awards in All Five Available Categories for Second Consecutive Season

PORTLAND, ME (May 27, 2011) – The Maine Red Claws continue to set the bar high on the business side of the organization, receiving five NBA Development League business awards for the 2010-11 season. The Red Claws received recognition in all five categories in which they were eligible.

The NBA Development League recognizes teams in six categories: 1000+ Full Season Tickets, $500,000+ in Sponsorship Revenue, 50+ Sponsorship Accounts, 75%+ Season Ticket Renewal Rate, 75+ Community Appearances and 1,000+ Group Tickets Per Game. With a total seating capacity of 3,045 at the Portland Expo Building, the team does not have the group seating capacity to be considered for the 1000+ Group Tickets Per Game award. The team far exceeded the standards established by the league in the remaining five categories including tripling the league expectation in community appearances during 2010-11 with more than 230. The Red Claws were one of just two NBA D-League team to win five or more awards.

“Our goal is to not just meet standards set but to always strive to exceed them,” said Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings. “We have a front office staff of seven full-time employees, and they work incredibly hard to make sure that the Maine Red Claws set the bar high. This is a tremendous recognition of the hard work they put in all year long.”

One of the hottest tickets in Maine, the Red Claws have packed the house for every home games during their first two seasons. Season ticket prices range from $240 to $600 for the 24-game regular season. A limited number of premium seats are also available. End zone seats, which are reserved for individual ticket sale and group sales, will once again not be available in a season ticket packages to make them available to community and school groups.
