How was the D-League Showcase experience in Boise, ID? Winning both games, including a win over the Austin Toros (the San Antonio Spurs owned team) who are considered to be one of the top teams in the league?

The showcase was a great experience for me; it was a lot of fun and I thought it was well put together. The win over Austin was great because Austin is one of the better teams in the D-League, and to beat a team owned by the San Antonio Spurs is even better because of the Spurs/Lakers Rivalry.

The team finished up their longest road trip on the season losing 4 games in a row, 3 of which were by 2 points or less? How does being on the road affect a team’s performance?

I think being on the road is difficult because you don’t sleep in your own bed, you can’t really cook your own food, and you eat out all of the time so that makes it tough because you don’t follow a normal routine as you would at home.

Apparently you and Head Coach Panaggio had a good speech on the plane ride back to Los Angeles. The team returned to form winning your next 2 games at STAPLES Center by an average of 22.5 points per game. What did you tell the team?

We just told the team to stay focused and every team goes through a bad stretch, and we played well enough to win but made some mistakes and the other teams just capitalized.

You were on the road for 9 days; what is the hardest thing about being on the road for so long?

The hardest thing about being on the road for so long is sleeping away from home, not having a car and having to eat out all of the time.

What has been your favorite city to travel to in the D-League?

Austin and Idaho by far are the best in my opinion.

When you were playing in the NBA, what were your favorite places to play (top choices for city and arena)?

My favorite places to play were New York (because I grew up there), LA (because of the weather), Atlanta and Charlotte (because my family was close by). Really, every city other than Denver, Boston, Orlando, Utah, Indiana and Philadelphia were good. As far as arenas go, my favorites were Madison Square Garden, The Boston Garden and The Forum.
