D-Fenders assistant coach Chucky Brown takes your questions
Timeout With C.B.: Feb. 20, 2007
Q. What did it mean to you as a coach and the D-Fenders team to have guard Brian Chase represent Los Angeles in the D-League All-Star game? A. "First of all, it is great for Brian. It gives him exposure and for him to have that experience is huge for him. It feels good to be a part of it as a coach and know that he is part of the team, but it is mainly good for him." Q. What does an award or accomplishment such as making the All-Star team do to a player's confidence?
Q. Do you believe that taking a break during All-Star weekend is a good thing for your players and team? A. "It can go both ways. Your team could be in rhythm and then the All-Star break comes around and breaks that rhythm. You don't want to have your team refocus all over again in that situation. On the other hand, your team could be burned-out and need a break to come back refreshed and re-energized. It really depends on the team." Q. As the season inches closer towards the playoffs, where does the chemistry of the team stand? A. "The chemistry of the team has been up and down because of so many
players leaving and coming in, but everyone realizes that every game is important.
A few teams are very close to us in the standings. Teams are getting better,
but we understand that there will be no easy games as the season gets closer
towards the playoffs. We need to make a push of our own and raise our concentration
level."
