On December 16, the Los Angeles D-Fenders teamed up with their NBA affiliate, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Mattel Toy Store to celebrate the holiday season with a group of 70 kids from LA Scores at the Toyota Sports Center. LA Scores is a five-day-per-week after-school program that works to enrich the lives of Los Angeles' urban youth through regular participation and skill building in creative writing, sports, and community service.

On hand at the party was the entire Lakers team, the Laker Girls and D-Fenders players Devin Green, Jackie Manuel, Chet Mason and T.J. Cummings. After the members of LA Scores enjoyed lunch, they had the chance to play a variety of games with the players, including skeetball, fooseball, Pop-A-Shot Basketball and a number of other arcade games. There were also plenty of opportunities to get autographs and take pictures with the kids' favorite D-Fenders and Lakers players.

Along with an afternoon full of great memories, each child took home a host of gifts, compliments of Mattel, the D-Fenders and the Lakers. Smiles and laughs were in abundance and was a fitting way to send off the D-Fenders as they will finish the holiday season on the road.
