On December 15, the Los Angeles D-Fenders presented their inaugural Heroes Among Us award to Bel Air Presbyterian Church. On hand to accept the award from Assistant Coach Chucky Brown was Bel Air Presbyterian's Outreach Pastor, Elias Dantas.

Over the last month, Elias and his congregation have been very active in the Los Angeles community with several projects including their annual turkey basket collection that provided 2,000 needy families with all the necessities for preparing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

This Christmas, Bel Air Presbyterian has adopted nearly 50 local families through their Adopt-A-Family program. The children in these families will receive gifts thanks to members of the church. Hundreds of other children will have a reason to be excited this holiday season because of presents donated by the church in partnership with Central Community Outreach, Heart of Los Angeles, and Union Rescue Mission. The church's compassion and generosity has touched the lives of thousands in the Los Angeles area. Bel Air Presbyterian Church is truly a Hero Among Us.
