EL SEGUNDO – The Los Angeles D-Fenders defeated the Idaho Stampede 121-91 tonight at the Toyota Sports Center.

Going up 12-0 after only three minutes of play, the D-Fenders (3-6) provided an exciting first quarter which ended with them leading 35-16 over the Stampede (8-2). Los Angeles’ lead dwindled in the second frame as the Stampede totaled 16 points in the paint compared to the D-Fenders’ six point effort. After one half, the D-Fenders totaled 20 made field goals on 54.1 percent from the field and held the edge in fast-break points (16-5).

In the third period, the D-Fenders solidified their defensive performance and held Idaho to 32.1 percent from the field, extending the Los Angeles lead to 14 points. The final quarter belonged to the D-Fenders who forced the Stampede into nine turnovers leading to 13 points off of those turnovers. Leading by as many as 32 points, the D-Fenders, who shot 63.6 percent from the field in the final frame, earned their third victory of the season.

The D-Fenders were paced by Manny Harris (22 points), Jamario Moon (21 points), Andre Ingram (17 points) and Kareem Rush (11 points). Each posting double-doubles, Brandon Costner (14 points, 12 rebounds) and Travis Hyman (11 points, 11 rebounds) also provided strong performances for Los Angeles.

Kellen Thornton (20 points) and Richard Howell (16 points) led the effort for the Stampede. Furthermore, Christian Kabongo (12 points), Pierre Jackson (11 points) and Dee Bost (10 points) rounded out the double-digit scorers for Idaho.

Overall, the D-Fenders held Idaho to opponent season-low marks in points (91), field goal percentage (39.3) and made field goals (35). Additionally, they held Pierre Jackson, the league’s leading scorer, to 11 points on four of 17 from the field. In total, Los Angeles held the advantage in almost every statistical category on the night. The led Idaho in field goal percentage (51.9-39.3), three-point field goal percentage (35.7-22.6), free-throw percentage (84.4-66.7), rebounds (49-41), assists (28-24), steals (14-12) and blocks (7-4).

The D-Fenders next contest will be against the Sioux Falls Skyforce (Miami Heat affiliate) on December 27th at 5:00pm in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
