On April 7th, D-Fenders fans and Lakers season ticket holders Jack Shelp and Khali Young participated in a special game of H-O-R-S-E at the Toyota Sorts Center, the official practice facility of the Lakers and D-Fenders. This wasn’t an ordinary game that you play in the park with your friends, they were going up against Lakers guard (and former D-Fender) Jordan Farmar.
Shelp & Young, were in attendance on December 7th when the D-Fenders hosted the Tulsa 66ers (affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder) in a game that was FREE for all fans. Selected in a drawing of hundreds of Lakers season ticket holders that turned out for the game; Shelp and Young won an experience of a lifetime.
After Lakers practice, Shelp and Young made their way to the court where Jordan Farmar awaited the challenge. Farmar won the first game without collecting a single letter, but attributed the victory to his opponents’ lack of warm-up time.
In the second game, Young surprised everyone in attendance when he drove to the basket and threw down a dunk. Farmar quickly realized that this game was going to be a little more competitive. Farmar eventually ousted Young on a deep three from the right wing after the two went back and forth hitting shots from long range.
Be sure to follow the D-Fenders next season for great experiences like this and more.
